Sorry to bother again...
Now that I think I have the Star Trek Interlace problem behind me, I would like to find out about outputting DVD size. Here is the background:
I am going to encode my Star Trek TNG to SVCD. Since these episodes are only 40 minutes, and the background seems very static in most scenes, the material seems to encode quite well. During the many test runs with deinterlacing, I did a few with full DVD size just out of curiosity. They seemed to compare fine with regular SVCD resolution.
I still have to choose a resize option though.
Isn't it that the Picture (4:3 full frame) can just be translated 1:1 precisely, without resizing? Why bother, I want it the way it is on the DVD, don't I? Could someone clarify this?
Also, in the near future, when DVD-r or whatever will be cheap, I'd like to put a few on one DVD, so should I check DVD compliant?
