FYI

I was originally exited by WinSubmux when it came out but I am absolutely frustrated by the results. With WinSubmux CVD subtitles, the subtitles are:

1) Missing lines. When the subtitles are three lines long, the first and third lines of subtitles are present. The second line is missing.

2) Sometimes the subtitles don't show up at all. Starting and restarting the SVCD disc several times in the standalone sometimes gets them to start up again.

3) The subs look funny. I use yellow or white for the primary color. Sometime there is a green block that extends from the right of the last letter of a particular line of text to the right side of the TV.

I have tried several versions of WinSubmux, all with the same result. I am currestly using the version that came with DVD2SVCD 1.09b2.

I retried the same encodes using good old Submux and, voila, everything is perfect again.

This is more of a FYI to users who are getting bad CVD results. Depending on equipment (brand of DVD player) better results might be obtained using Submux rather than WinSubmux. Or vica versa.

As usual, do what works best for you. One person's solution might not work for another.

the use of Winsubmux, Submux, CVD or S-VCD subtitles, a speacial thread has been opened for subtitle Q & A's only. There you'll
