hi doom,

the guides are great. the only problem is it kinda hard to understand when one has to perform ivtc, force film or whatever. you said:

" If it's FILM at a percentage higher or equal to 95% you can activate Forced FILM as shown below. IF it only shows FILM the same applies. Otherwise you will have to perform IVTC, the same also applies if the Video Type is NTSC. "

what applies to what? does every 'NTSC' dvd have to be IVTC'd, regardless of the dvd2avi report?

besides that everything's great!
thanx

yup.. unless you want to encode at 29.97fps and deinterlace. In all fairness I have to admit that if the type is NTSC it may not be possible to properly IVTC it, at least not with the regular settings but you can try to edit the .avs file according to my tips in the decomb guide.

hi doom,

how do i know if i "properly IVTC'd" my movie?
I had 4 dvds, all ntsc, although they all were all recognized as "FILM" in dvd2avi... 2 of them i activated force film, and the other two I performed IVTC (default setting - no decomb stuff). I didnt deinterlace in any of them...

they eventually all came out ok...no interlacing or stuff like that.
so which way should i use?

thnx again...

well.. if you see no interlacing in the final output then you have nothing to worry about ;) your eyes are the only way to tell if the IVTC process has succeeded.
