OK ... This may have been answered, but so far I Have not found it.

I have a video card that allows me to watch DivX on a TV. It only works for DivX 4.02 or later. My question is how do I convert all my older DivX movies to 4.02 or later?

Just remember that I am new to this format and new to the programs out there. You may need to talk to me like a newbie. I would like the easiest way with the least amount of steps possible. Is there a program that you pick the file and tell it what format you want it saved in and hit go? I know it might be wishful thinking.

Thanks
Dave

Thanks for the reply ..... The card is the Xcard from sigma designs ..... I also had a graphics card in my computer that allows you to hook up to a TV, but when I played DivX it would never show up on TV - just was black. DVD's played fine with that card .... So I got this Xcard to be able to work with DivX. How easy is virtualdub to use?

Thanks
Dave

VirtualDub is very easy to use.
Documentation is at : http://www.virtualdub.org/virtualdub_docs

Although you might be able to get by with a little knowledge from the Guides found on this site.

Sigma's X-Card should play DivX5 content also(?).

For the TV-out on your videocard to work you need to set the TV as your primary display (not the monitor).

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply ..... I believe I did set the TV as my primary and was able to watch DVD's, but when I played DivX I just got a black screen for the movie. I still could see all the buttons on the TV like you would on a monitor - Just black where the movie should have been.

YES ... I think you can watch DivX 5 on the Xcard.

Thanks
