I was wondering how to specify a 4:3 aspect ratio header to an Mpeg1 stream. Perhaps it is a problem of the software not reading the MPG1 header right as I've re-coded it and it still plays without ratio, yet it works when burned to CD as an non standard XVCD.
The only way I've found to get this into is to use TMPG use the "Merge" tool but specifiying an MPEG-2 stream. So far all players i've tried recognize the 4:3 ratio and see an MPG-1 video, but Nero just reads the header and thinks it is an MPG-2 video. I havn't tried burning one of these hybrids yet.
I'd just like to edit the header and rather not re-encode the files as I've already tried changing them to SVCD (as they are SVCD resolution & bit rate) using CCE 2.26 and discovered there are Mpeg video errors / de-muxing problems / re-muxing errors. And the quality also suffers a bit as slight tones changes in the background are badly transcoded.
