View Full Version : Strange error: "Could not write to the mpv file"?!?

This is the second time this happens and always with the same file. I am trying to convert from a Divx Avi through Avisynth script to CCE 2.5 SP.
All goes fine (though it takes forever even on my XP 1800+), but at about 75% CCE stops and gives the message: "CCE encoding failed - could not write to the file ...(path)...\encoded_video_CCE_PAL.MPV - Windows error code 0X6 6"
What does this mean? And why can't I even recover the work done? The mentioned mpv encoded file should be bigger than 8.700kb by now! Why do I have to start all over again, WHY?

I am going nuts; I don't know what to do. Encoding from DVD source I get no problems whatsoever, but with Divx... could it be the Divx is corrupted? Is this a CCE bug?

Please help.

Well, since nobody answered, I'll answer myself...

I believe the problem lies with the Sharpen filter I've tried in the avisynth script. Without it I am not getting the usual CCE crash, so I'm pretty much sure that's it.

I haven't tried that filter with DVD sources, so it might not like just Divx sources, I dunno...

I can live without sharpen, I just wanted to give it a try. Anyone knows of any bugs with this filter?
