hi i have a prob i have a svcd that i burnt to disks.it works fine on computer but when i insert it in a stand alone dvd player my denon dvd800 player...the movie jumps i mea stutters..start stop start stop why is the player doing this???

There could be many reasons for this. For example, your encode may have high peak bitrates that your player can't handle. You player may not be svcd compatible, and a host of other problems. Search the forum and you will find this has been discussed many times. There will be quite a few things for you to try first.

It could just be that you've burned at high speeds. I myself had some problems like you said and reducing burning speed helped, especially with cheap cdr media.

But it could be something else, I don't know...

Is this something you encoded yourself? If so what program did you use, TMPGEnc or CCE? Open the file in bitrate viewer and see what the maximum bitrates are. The SVCD standard is something like 2756 for audio and video combined. My APEX will handle about 5000 but over that it stutters.

I had the same problem until I downsampled the audio.
