I use DVDx to convert my DVD's to mpeg-1 to write to VCD and I was just wandering which resolution is best for creating really good VCD's but I still only want 1 DVD to fit on 2 VCD's.
Hope you can help me with this simple question, if none of you use DVDx could you tell me which resolutions you use, take care and thanks, Dave. :)
I've never actually encoded VCDs myself, but doesn't VCDs have to be of the specific resolution of 352 * 240?

No the resolution can be whatever you want!
so thats whey I was asking what is the best for a VCD so it still fits on 2 CD's.
And where does everyone get 90 Min CD's?

No. VCD has a set resolution of 352x240 (for NTSC). "XVCD" or a VCD outside of the standard can have a different resolution. Resolution will not effect the size of your mpg file. Changing the bitrate will change the file size. Choosing a higher resolution at the same bitrate will result in a file with the same size, but the picture will likely suffer from the lack of bitrate. XVCDs will not play on all DVD players.
