scsi hdd

i got a scsi hdd but it's in an external box
i'm wondering wether or not it's possible to boot from it or if i have to put it into my comp box to do this.

You will need a SCSI card with its own BIOS (or a motherboard with equivalent on-board components) ... set the boot device in the adapter setup & also in your mobo BIOS setup (usually it's set to boot from IDE devices). It does not matter if it's external or not ...
