Hey guys...

been using D2S 1.0.9 B2... just backed up my copy of Harry Potter to make a VCD.

I'm not having any problems with the process itself, and the MPGs are great. I will include the LOG later if someone feels necessary.

Basically, my first BIN/CUE file, when I try to burn in Nero, the overall length comes out as 80.00.18 min. Freaking .18th of a second is preventing me from burning the first BIN/CUE.

So, I just dumped the MPG straight into Nero to use the built in VCD creation, and the final length comes out as 80:06 something.... Now, I know I could use TMPGEnc and just cut out 10 seconds or so, but I want to know if Nero is a bad choice to burn the first BIN/CUE, or if it's possibly to OVERBURN by .18 seconds, and HOW?

I am open to ANY suggestions.

Well nero is ok for burning svcd's as long as you use the cue/bin file and load it up in deamon tools or fantom cd. For overburning the only way you can do that is if your burner supports it. The only thing i can say is drop your log file and lets see what happened. If you do end up using nero 2 burn the mpeg files u'll lose the chapters and wont be able to skip around other then that it should be ok.

you WON'T believe this... I accidentally deleted my LOG file when I was deleting the VOB files to free up some space...

I am using 800 as my bitrate, so possibly 795 would be a better choice to prevent from happening again...

again, to my original question, is it possible to OVERBURN using a BIN/CUE file...or, should I try FireBurner or CD-R WIN to burn the file???

...should I just edit 10 seconds or so, and just lose the chapters, or ?????

Well you can overburn if your burner supports it. I have 2 burners only 1 supports overburning so your guess is as good as mine on that one. You can enable overburning in nero if your burner supports that then it will work if not then it will tell u something about your disk not being big enough.

Beautiful!! thank you for your help!!

steps to solution:

1. Install Daemon Tools 3.11
2. Create a Virtual Drive (F: in my case) and attach the CUE file.
3. Open Nero 5.5.8.2
(you'll have to enable OverBurn first)
To do this, follow these steps:
3a. Open Nero
3b. Goto File > Preferences
3c. Select the Expert Features Tab
3d. Tick the Enable Overburn 'disc at once' checkbox
3e. Select the amount of time for your overburn
(I did [80 min 1 sec 0 frm]
4. Start the Nero Wizard and choose Copy CD
5. Select the temporary virtual drive with attached CUE sheet
(Make sure fast copy on-the-fly is ticked)
6. Next, choose to Burn
7. If prompted, select Burn OverBurn Disc.

Worked great for me, and I'm watching my VCD now on my standalone!

Sorry for any trouble, and thank you for the quick responses!
