Question about Firewire capture and Premiere

If I capture through a firewire card from DV Camera at 720x480 into Premiere and I want an MPEG2 file for DVD authoring, will Premiere save the capture to MPEG2 format ready for Spruceup? If not how does it save it and do I then need to re encode the video with TMPG to MPEG2? thanks

If you cap it thru Premiere, it will save it as a type-1 .avi file using the Microsoft DV codec. You will then have to convert it to a type-2 .avi. You will then have to use either tmpg or CCE to make it into an mpeg-2 stream (prolly CCE to do video and tmpg or Soft Encode to do the audio). Then use bbmpeg to mux together.
