For those that use the IFOUpdate utility and Nero, stop banging your head against the wall if you're getting an error with 5.5.8.2. It won't work because that version somehow seems to look for the "missing" VOB files and so it won't burn it. Nero 5.5.8.0 does not have the same complaint when going to burn.
@Jdobbs
I'm not complaining by any means! I LOVE the utility! I just wanted to let you and everyone else know that it's not something they're doing wrong. I don't know what part of the IFO's Nero 5.5.8.2 is checking but it's somehow looking for VOB files that were there before that no longer exist. For instance, if the original had a VTS_01_x.VOB, where "x" is 1-5 and the authored is cut down to 1-3, Nero 5.5.8.2 gives an error when it tries to find VTS_01_4.VOB. Hopefully there is a way around this in future versions of your utility as I've really come to depend on it! :)

TRILIGHT,
Are you sure its the utility, or is it the method in general? If you update the cell information by hand (rather than using IFOUpdate) does it do the same thing?
I'm guessing that Nero is looking at the VTS_C_ADT table. That table references the cell and vob structure and has never been updated by the Joseph2 method whether you do it by hand or use IFOUpdate (it didn't seem to make a difference in the past).
If you wouldn't mind, could you try manually modifying this table on one of the VTS sets that failed and see if it fixes the problem? I was planning to add that to the utility but hadn't worked on it yet. If it turns out to be important I'll do it right away.

Could you give me some insight as to how to do it manually? Honestly, I never tried it manually before your utility. In fact, I never could get a working mesh of original menu an reauthored VOB's until your util! :)
The only reason I thought it might be the utility is that I've had it happen on two different titles (perhaps it's just the titles? They are Vanilla Sky and The Untouchables) and I didn't have a problem before. The only difference was that I was using 5.5.8.0 before. I reinstalled the older version and "The Untouchables" burns fine now. 5.5.8.2 complains that it can't find the next VOB in the sequence though it's not there anymore.
As for the method, I reauthor the movie and then rename the files as needed to match up to what the original numbers are. I copy the new VOB's over (NOT including VTS_0x_0.VOB!) and then run the IFOUpdate util. I do "Get VTS Sectors" in IFOEdit and then try to burn.
Thanks again Jdobbs!
Is this error by any means this error:
! DVD file reallocation failed
I got this error when I upgraded to version 5.5.8.2. Downgraded back to 5.5.8.0 and everythings ok. I'm not using IFOUpdate.

No. I forget the exact error but it specifically stated that it could not find the next sequential VOB. I've done other titles with 5.5.8.2 without a problem but these two seem to complain though I'm doing everything the same way. It may not be the IFOUpdate utility and I certainly didn't mean to make it seem like I was pointing the finger at Jdobbs. Certainly not! I just know that he knows a lot about it and my process has always worked in the past. Just trying to figure out what's wrong this time.

TRILIGHT,
I have a busy weekend. But I'll try and take a look at updating the software. I'll send it to you and let you try it on these titles with the new Nero Version.

Thanks Jdobbs. I'm out for the weekend myself too. I'll check back Sunday evening.
