View Full Version : Problems with subrip.

I’m currently putting Amile (R2) onto DVD using CEE & IFOEdit guide.

Instead of using Scenarist I’m using Maestro. This is because of the exceeding bitrate error I get in Scenarist (I now know that you have to change the max bit rate in CCE from 9800 to a lower value so that sound tracks can be incorporated); thus I don’t want to re-encode the video again.

Anyway, I’m using subrip to extract the subtitles and am having problems. I’m following Doom9 guide. Basically I think my problem is in the “Teaching the tool” for example if I get an “a” pop up rather than have a red square round the whole letter I get about three pop up over the letter. Thus when subrip is finished the output is rubbish, i.e. “Thee caaattt sssaaatt ooon thhheee maaatt” that type of thing.

Now is there anywhere that I could get a matrix for the program so I don’t have to teach it?

Could I use another tool to rip the sub’s (Like the one used in the Scenarist guide) that would import into Maestro?

Or is it just something I’m doing really wrong.

I did look to see if I could find an anwser elswhere in the forum but couldn't.

Thanks

D

Check what method I use HERE (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=24606). I've personally found the OCR unreliable and it cannot always catch "special" characters, etc. Using bmp's is FAR more reliable IMHO and I've not had a problem yet!

Follow TRILIGHT's great tutorial on that link , it worked for me where I'd had countess problems using the OCR method.. In fact, I can't understand now why anyone would even bother with the OCR method now !
