i was wondering if any of you guys could tell me the best way to deinterlace a pal dvd when encoding with the divx 5.02 pro codec.

im using gknot at the moment.

ive tryed field deinterlace, and it blurs too much when ever anything moves on screen, im trying greedyHMA now, yet to try simple.

if youve any ideas, or know of a helpful thread....

thanx

My personal favorite is Greedy. If you think field blurs too much then don't try simple, that will blur even more. Do try field with blend=false, this will produce a sharper picture. You can also try smartdeinterlace, it is based on the same algorithm as field but usually produces slightly better results. Same thing here, I recommend that you set blend parameter to false to avoid blurring. It is included in the mpeg2dec.dll plugin for AVIsynth.
