I have been reading this forum for some time now and have decided to post my first thread.
When using CCE with DVD2SVCD and the source file is Field based (DCT type = field) and the field order is top field first then I believe (from reading other posts) you should not set Field A (top field first in DVD2SCVD) as this will cause the CCE encoder to alter the way it encodes the output file by reversing the field order (or something which is undesirable).
CCE always set the TFF flag (top field first), regardles of the source material, in the resulting MPEG file and if your+ source file is TFF then you do not want the CCE enoder to mess with the stream.
What does DVD2SCVD do with the field setting if you select "Auto" does it set the Top Field First option in the CCE encoder thus introducing undesirable effects ?
What setting is appropriate if the source is progressive and not field based ?
Does it matter if your are doing NTSC or PAL ?
I am seeking clarity as varying posts to these forums suggest different settings to those that would appear to make sense..
