sound: sometimes yes - sometimes no

I was wondering if I could get some help with a sound problem I'm having. I use TMPG to encode movies and without touching the settings some movies have sound while others don't. Help, please

Are you ripping dvd's or converting DivX to (s)VCD????

I've been able to figure out the problem. Any Divx movie encoded with a sampling frequency of 48000 will have no sound after encoding using tmpgenc. If the frequency is 44100 then there is sound when the file is complete. In order to solve the problem I do the following:
step one - open the movie in virtual dub (I use 1.4)
step two - click on audio then avi audio and full processing mode
step three - click on audio again and click on conversion, under
sampling rate choose 44100hz. Leave everything else
alone.
step four - click on file and choose save wav.

Now when you convert a movie to vcd using tmpgenc for video source pick the movie you're going to convert and for audio source choose the wav file that you saved in step four and your movie will have video and sound.

Yep, Thats how ya do it!!!! May want to add to step 3 to check 'High Quality'
