OK...here is my situation and I am really needing some help....

I am currently making DVD's using an authoring program called DVD Wise......it does support Dolby Digital 5.1 audio streams and imports VOB video files....the only problem is it imports each video clip as a title as opposed to chapters and that's a problem....there is a slight pause between each song because it goes from title to title as opposed to chapter to chapter in 1 title

What I am doing is capturing music videos and concerts to DVD....I capture each song at a time and I am looking for an authoring solution that will allow me to import each video clip as a title and not a chapter....that way there will not be any pauses between the tracks....any ideas? I am looking for the following in an authoring solution :

- Import VOB or MPV and AC3 media as chapters and not titles (to avoid pauses between tracks or songs)
- Great menu creation that will allow songs to play in the background while the menu is running

Any / all help is GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!

You're really going to need to do this before you author. You need to use some video editing software such as Adobe Premiere and place all your clips into one video/audio set that you can then use in your authoring software and set chapter points wherever you want them.

Since I already use an encoder won't Premiere re-encode all the video that I drop into the timeline or just combine them to make 1 long stream? I use software to create a Dolby Digital 5.1 audio stream....is Premiere capable of handling that? What format would I export the video in? MPEG? VOB?

THANKS!

The VOB's are created when you compile the project in the DVD authoring software. Premiere does not work with AC3 files. You need to capture to WAV files and use that in Premiere. You can use that in Premiere and then convert it to AC3 later. As for recompression, Premiere will not do that provided all your clips were captured the same way and you deselect the "Recompress" option under the "Data Rate" section of your video export settings.

How can it combine all video titles to one VOB file? I was under the impression that VOB files could not be bigger than 1 GIG in size.....how can I go back and convert the wave to AC3? Then if Premier does split up the VOB's how does it fit into an authoring package? Or will it create it's own image file to burn from within an image burning software? I really appreciate all of your help on this....

THANKS!!!!
