How to Open .d2v

Hi I am not able to open my DVD2AVI project file in TMPG 2.54a. It gives me "Illegal Stream Format". Can anyone help? I tried the methods described by 'mcp' in his post but it dodnt work for me. Or maybe I am doing something wrong. Can someone explain more clearly?

Sorry Guys! My bad. Well, After a hard semester, I am returning to divx, so I guess my divx cells have been lost. Anyway, I wuz trying to do an 'open project' instead of opening it as a video source.

What you can do is the following:

1) install AviSynth v1.0b5 or newer http://www.videotools.net/uk/index.php.

2) Import the d2v file in AviSynth (see AviSynth Q&A in the forum of AviSynth).

3) Import the avs file (of AviSynth) in TMPGEnc.

4) Import the wav file in TMPGEnc.

balbrain, you need to install VFAPI. Find it at doom9 download page.

yeah, install the VFAPI codec first, then drop your .d2v file into the VFAPI exe window, where it will have it's header re-written in a matter of seconds, and will then be readable by either TMPGEnc or Cinemacraft.
