View Full Version : CCE vs. TMPG ????
Ok. this question is for people that have tyied CCE 2.50 and TMPG. Does anybody know which one CCE or TMPG is better in quality when you encode movies ? In DVD2SVCD there's the option of using CCE or TMPG. I was just wondering which one is better in QUALITY "as in video and audio", TIME "as in encoding time"

This is a pretty common discussion. I was going to yell at you for not using the search button, but I tried a search on this subject and got tons of irrelavent threads and couldn't find a good one.
The common thinking is that for Mpeg-2(SVCD) CCE is superior to TMPG and for Mpeg-1(VCD) TMPG is better then CCE.

yes markrb i would agree with that the tests i have done would back me up i know that anything lower then 1600kb/s i would switch over 2 doing vcd with tempgenc as svcd's start 2 look worse but other then that svcd's look much much better :)
