Hi,

I'm quite new in DVD Video backup and want some advice in my way of doing...

Currently, I use SmartRipper to demux the video as an .m2v file and the audio as an .ac3 file;

If needed, I reencode the m2v with ReMPEG at a lower bitrate.

Now what:
1/ I import the m2v and the ac3 in an authoring program, create the dvd structure and burn the dvd. -> OK but... most of the authoring program do not accept AC3 5.1 in output and evenmore they are not for free !!!!

2/ ??? No idea... -> If I use TMPGEnc to mux the (reencoded) m2V and the ac3 -> what do I obtain ? what are the next easy steps in order to burn the dvd ?

-> If solution 2 is a good one -> where can i find a guide or something... ?

-> I don't demux subtitle, or chapters or whatever... -> on my final dvd I only have the film and the sound in 5.1 -> it plays directly when I insert it in the dvd player.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Regards,
LeOle.

dont demux.
feed rempeg with a cfll pointing to your vobs.
this will give you a m2p.

then remux back the video with ifoedit.

this will give you a new set of vob files (old audio stream(s) + new video stream).

Thanks for your fast reaction erwan...

But cuold you give me more explanations please... ?

1/ what's a cfll file ? any example, guide ?

2/ how to remux from ifoEdit ? any example, guide ?

3/ Is is possible to specify the audio stream with this method (for example only french 5.1) ?

4/ What are the advantages of the m2p ?

Thanks a lot...
Don't be greedy in descriptions... I'm a fan of steps by steps newbie user guide ;-)

LeOle.
