Read somewhere that is a way or something that using the "pulldown.exe" can be incorporated into CCE, thus eliminating one step...any truth to this rumor, if so where, who, what, when, & why?..lol

I have heard that cc 2.66, which is in beta at the moment has this feature incorporated

There is a handy 3:2-pulldown in version 2.66sp (beta):

Mod / Admin please validate the attached picture. Thanks

I thought I read somewhere that Avisynth does not work with newer versions of CCE. Is this true? Is there a way around it?

Direkt avs loading into CCE works with

- those sp versions:
2.25, 2.50, 2.66

For 2.62 and 2.64 you need vfapi or link2 (to generate pseudo avi or fake avi).

- those lite versions
2.25, 2.29, 2.50, 2.64, 2.66

For 2.62 you need vfapi or link2 (to generate pseudo avi or fake avi).

Thanks for the info, mb1! I'm curious though... I just visited the Cinemacraft site and they have 2.64 listed as the latest version. Where is info on 2.66 if not on their site?

2.66 is in beta stadium. No infos at cinemacraft.com and the web.
I attached a picture (of 3:2 pulldown menu from beta 2.66.00.10 sp) in my first post above - but maybe not validated until now ...

I understand. Thanks again for the info, mb1. Good luck with your beta testing. I look forward to this incorporated pulldown option.

Maybe people would like to have a small view at the features.

I did a quick site buildup to show some cce impressions :)

Thanks again for the info. Looks like a lot of cool new features! The pulldown option seems rather complex. I'm used to using pulldown.exe. I'm curious, does the pulldown work during the encoding process or does it run at the end? Is it comparable to the speed pulldown.exe processes the file?

mb1 you cruel, cruel bastard. (for the 'link' at the end)

Seriously, the new features look great, and I like the new layout. Any idea when this will be released? Since the beta build is dated feb 28 I would think it should be soon.

@ wmansir

Should be released in June.

Sorry couldnīt resist ;)

@ TRILIGHT

I did no pulldown testings until now (since I live in PAL world :) ).
Iīll tell you soon.

Hi mb1,

it seems you are a distinguished member of CCE "not official beta tester" group;).

Could you tell me if this beta version has a pdf manual? If yes, could you send to me the manual ONLY? I don't need the binary, since it doesn't have any patch yet. I am just curious to read it.

email: beet.hoven@bol.com.br

regards

Actually there is a pdf-manual included but itīs the same as of cce 2.64sp. No documentation of the new features available at the moment.

I also tried to find a documentary of 2.66pro version to maybe find some more infos. But download on official site is only for japanese language :(

So to answer my question..this function has NOT been added into 2.5 by a 3rd party? Only available in new beta version, correct?

In short ... you are right.

Who should do this piece of work without cces` sourcecode (itīs in assembler  ).

Hey, have they fixed the top field first checkbox not working bug in 2.66? It's been in there for a LOOOONG time.

Good luck, Robshot. I've waited for a PM or e-mail from him since he first started talking about it. Still nothing. At first I thought he might be on a beta test team and was trying to adhere to a NDA but he said that he was not and, afterall, he's posted screenshots and everything so that would definitely be violating a NDA. ;)

I guess he doesn't want to share. I'm not complaining. I suppose it's his perrogative. Maybe he doesn't ever need anyone's help. I, for one, shudder to think where I'd be if you'd never gotten your hands on it, Robshot. I appreciate the work you did in putting together the first guide for everyone explaining the details of the Advanced VBR settings. It's proven QUITE useful.

@ Milkman Dan
The tff-box works the same way as in 2.64 / 2.62 / 2.50.
CCE always sets the tff flag but then shifts the fields around before encoding (depending on what you have set).
But that doesnīt work that well and mostly setting bff flag afterwards is needed (f.e. with pulldown.exe or ReStream or Easy Changer).

@ robshot / TRILIGHT
The guy who sent me the beta version wanted to not share his version. I appreciate that.
So I decided not to share but to inform about the newest version. Maybe a mistake (not to be quiet).

Why not waiting on the final official release which supposed to be this month ...

I think Iīm known willing to share every sort of program.

Hullo
just to bump up the topic, and perhaps trying to find out whether the official demo release has up for this version. (read: CCE 2.66)

or maybe there's some change of heart/policy. I really _really_ want to try this one up.

rob

Meeee Toooo? :) I've always used 2.50 and was wondering if the encode speed and quality has increased throughout the newer versions?? and have they fixed the audio problems?

mb1
20th June 2002, 17:38
Sorry, no official demo release until now.

Speed of all 2.6x versions is slightly slower than 2.5x versions.
Quality is almost the same (slightly better).

What do you mean with audio problems ?
The "no audio on amd systems" (2.50sp only) was fixed since 2.56sp
The "bad audio quality" belongs only to demo versions and their cracked brothers.
The original full version never had any problems (it uses a hardware dongle).

Ok, thanks. Would you know if the CCE plug-in can now process audio on a VBR encode? The plug-in that came with 2.62 could not, only CBR.

Thanks

mb1
20th June 2002, 17:55
2.66 plugin cannot, too.

i am using an Athlon 1800 Xp....on an ASUS Nforce mobo. With XP professional.

Just wondering if u know of a list of issues regarding CCE 2.5, Win XP and Athlon CPu's

Ii notice a few mentions of probs related to athlon.

If you know them off hand perhaps you can mention them or...their threads?

Also..I thought CCE was a video encoder ...whats this about audio?

CCE 2.50sp has no problems with Athlon XP processors.
Its audio engine works with sse instructions which are completely available on athlon xp.
They are not on athlon and duron systems (which are older than athlon xp).

Sorry I have no list of issues. Also it is to system and program dependant to describe here in a few words.
Using some avisynth versions and operating systems you need to add "resampleaudio(44100)" (even on pentium systems).

But mostly it can be said that problems are a result of peoples improper installations !

i emailed cinemacraft politely asking for a trial for this 2.66 PRO version.

i think i caught them in a bad day, as it was when the japan football team lost against turkey in the worldcup 2002.

so, i received a polite refusal the following day, informing that CCE PRO is software and hardware, so they don't put trial/demo. the nice guy also told me that there will be 2.66 SP to be release july - august, and politely asked me to wait until the official release.

in the world of forrest gump, this would work. alas, i live in the world where human hate mutants.

Bumping it up again. I REALLY WANT TO TRY this version. Anyone has it yet? Or is it still in the land of no-sharing?
