I get this error 4 out of 5 times, when I try to encode a dvd to svcd.

I've posted .jpg of my bbmpeg window with the error message.

Im encoding clerks this time, using 2.54a of tmpgenc, the latest version at the time of this post

Any ideas whats causing this ?

Smart Ripper -> DVD2AVI -> TMPGEnc -> bbmpeg -> vcdeasy

Vob2Audio for audio, tried using tmpgenc and besweet to encode audio, doesn't seem to make a diffrenece

Your bitrate is too high. Video bitrate cannot exceed 2.6mbits and total bitrate (video + audio) cannot exceed ~2748kbits.

Even if your settings aren't this high the encoder can still have some inadvertant bitrate spikes that go outside of the specs. I've found this to be the case more so with TMPGenc than with other encoders.

Anyway you have two solutions. You can encode with a lower max bitrate or you can set the forced mux rate to 0 in bbmpeg. This basically lets bbmpeg select the correct mux rate so you are guaranteed not to have any underflows, though the filesize may be increased.

I did CQ in Tmpeg at 2520 and the audio was 192 so 2712

I'll give mux rate at 0 a try and see what happens
