Hello,

Does anyone own this DVD? I see it for sale on Ebay all the time for sale. I know it is a bootleg DVD ripped from the Laserdisc with Dolby Digital 5.1 audio. The reason I'm asking is because I thought about buying it, but I'm not sure on the quality. I would hate to pay $70+ for a crappy copy when I already own 4 versions of the VHS tape. I guess what Im asking is is it atleast SVCD quality? Any audio/video sync problems?

Heck I would settle for an SVCD rip, but no one is selling this so I guess I will get the DVD if it is worth it. Anyway, sorry for ranting, and any advice is appreciated. Thanks

Darrell

Don't buy it off Ebay, it's a rippoff. You can order it directly from asia for about $10 a dvd with shipping. The downside is they can some times take a while to ship, up to 40 days. But it doesn't always take so long.

Thanks. I figured the Ebay ones were a ripoff. I just wish Lucas would release the official version. I would gladly spend $100 for the trilogy on DVD. I am spoiled on DVD and cant bring myself to watch the VHS versions anymore... It doesnt help that my VCR broke and I wont buy another one :) Thanks for the information. I'll just skip on those at Ebay. I just cant justify spending that kind of money unless its an official version.

I don't suppose you would have a contact for the Asia supplier???
If you don't want to post it, you could Email me. + are they trustworthy???? Thanks.:)

Well, the reason (officially!) for the old star wars movie not yet being published on DVD is that they (again) want to redo some sequences for it, adding some stuff as well...

Of course this is (even if they do it) just the explanation they need to delay it even further... and I've heard somewhere else that no DVD version of episode 4-6 will be released until after the DVD release of Star Wars Episode 3...

Yes I heard the same thing. This is sad. You would think Lucas would try to make money off of the movies. God knows he has done it with many many versions of the trilogy. I would be happy with a trilogy set with nothing more than the movie itself on it. Then later once he completes his "special stuff" he can release an Ultimate Edition or something.. I would gladly buy them both. I just hate to wait another 4 years to see the DVDs.
