Burning MPEG2 into CD-R

Dear Forum,

I really want to ask,
is that possible to burn my MPEG2 (DVD format) files into CD-R
which can be played in the stand-alone DVD player ?

I think 80 minutes (700 MB) CD-R can hold about 15 minutes of
DVD-format MPEG2. Menu is not the important thing.

All my MPEG2 are created using TmpgEnc with DVD-template.

So... what I'm looking for is DVD-imager which could make
DVD image (ISO or whatever) from MPEG2 file and ready to be
burned use Nero or other CD-Recording program.

Nope, not possible to author a cd like you would a dvd. Your stand-alone wont play it. The player uses an onother laser, thicker beam, a different wavelenght (or something like the above) when it detects a CD in the tray. F.i max allowable bitrate for mpeg2 on an CD-r is usually 2600 kbps, giving a minimum of 40 minutes video per 80min CD.

Kopei makes a good point. I just had a look-see over at the vcdhelp's compatability list:

It seems like there are quite a few players supporting miniDVD now. Used to be almost none.
