Hi Lads,

again a very neat question !

I'm trying to make a copy of a DVD containing a Rock-Concert (AC/DC, Stiff upper Lip).
There are 3 Audio-Tracks on this DVD, Dolby 2.0, 5.1 and DTS.

If you guys would make an SVCD from this one, what Track would you select ?

The 2.0, because Dolby Surround is the best I can produce anyway,
the 5.1, because the internal routines are making an excellent Dolby Surround, probably better than the existing Dolby 2.0,
or the DTS Track (I haven't tried yet).

Would anyone recommend to play this SVCD in Dolby Surround mode or just in Stereo ?

I know that this all depends on personal individualities, but I 'd like your opinion !

Cheers, Lance

If you trust the studio that made the dvd, go with the 2.0. personally I will always choose a 2.0 AC3 to make a 2.0 mp3/mp2/ogg/wav/whatever, it just makes sense to me that the studio will downmix properly. Not sure about your stereo vs dolby surround question though, my multimedia system (a TV set) probably isn't as great as yours so it doesn't matter to me.
