Hey Guys I recently posted a question on how to make the SVCD files a little bit smaller, and you told me to change the tab from 800 to 795, and I did that and ever since then my Encoding refuses to continue. I tried Reformating my machine, I then Installed CCE 2.5 and then installed DVD2SVCD. here is my Log file posting

And this is where it stops every time, it will not go any further, I have no idea why it cant find Registry entries, I even looked thru my Registry and there are tonns of entries made from the CCE install, so I dunno what dvd2svcd is bitching about, this is really bothering me as I have not been able to make any SVCD's for a few days now. :(
does anyone have any thoughts ? on how to fix this problem

Do you have administrator rights on the computer? Try manually starting CCE and close it again (that should fix the registry settings). Are you using the SP version of CCE?

Ir0ndood
26th May 2002, 17:50
Yeah I do have Administrative Rights, Im using CCE Sp as well, I have been using this same setup for the past few months, it just all of a sudden stopped working. I will try manualy starting it.

Ir0ndood
27th May 2002, 18:17
Well I manually Started CCE, and I didn't get the Registry error but it still did not finnish encoding. it still just stops after doing the First part of the CCE encoding, just after it makes that Vaf file. :[ Any other idea's on why it may be hanging ? Does it have anything to do with the fact that I changed the cd size from 800 to 795 ?

Ir0ndood

Thanx Batch I will try that tonight and let you know tomorrow if it worked or not.

27th May 2002, 20:54
Does CCE SP even start? If it does, does it start encoding and if it does that too, how far does it get into the encoding before it stops?

Did you try out the things suggested in Q60 in the Q&A?

roy

I have the same problem with cce. After creating vaf file it doesn't start at all, but dvd2svcd is still runing. Before everything was ok. The same happens with dvd2svcd 1.09 b1 and b2, i'm using CCE 2.50SP.

Ir0ndood
27th May 2002, 21:59
CCE Does Start, It makes the Vaf file, which takes about an hour and a half, and then When its supposed to move on and start the actuall encoding it does not start, and yet dvd2svcd is still running. just as Roy Posted. I dont think Q60 of the Q&A applies to me because im not getting any errors from CCE, nor is it crashing, its just not being started, I can manually open CCE, and open the CCE_Project_file.ecl File and start the encoding.

Creation on the VAF file is part of the encoding. Please, post your DVD2SVCD.INI file here (found where dvd2svcd.exe is located too).

Try these two things:

1. In the FrameServer tab try BicubicResize
2. In the Misc. Tab try setting the "process priority" to normal.

The above suggestions is based upon the fact that I have updated the avisynth.dll, but have not tested it with your settings (bilinear and high process priority)

ACH, I seem to be having a new problem, The Auth_call.exe generates errors and is closed every time I Click on the CD in the conversion tab to load a dvd into dvd2svcd, I have tried Re-formating and re-installing but it does it every time :/

Have you installed the force Aspi drivers? You can find them linked in the Q + A and on the doom9 download page.

It isn't uncommon for them to get corrupted.

I had the same problem yesterday for the first time using DVD2SVCD 109b2. CCE stopped at 25%. I found that in my ripped VOBs there was a zero length chapter, i unticked it, start over the whole encoding and CCE ended successfully! Was it accidental?
I know that zero length chapters cause A/V synch problems as Markb mentioned in a related thread...
IrOndood do check for zero length chapters and let us know...

Maybe it's a good idea to put in a warning in dvd2svcd if it sees any 0 length chapters (recommending to untick them). Is it the 0 length chapters in the beginning only that makes the conversion fail / go async or....?

VILLA21
28th May 2002, 22:48
The zero length chapter i was talking, was the last one....
It"s a good idea the warning for 0 length chapters!
Waiting for IrOndood to reply,...i"m curious enough...:)
