Hi Folks,

unfortunately I've a problem with a vcd -.-> divx conversion. Here is my way to go:

- 2 VCDs of A.I.
- dat - > mpeg with vcdgear
- first Part: 1:19:08 (h:m:s)
- second Part: 1:00:41 (h:m:s)
- total length: 2:19:49
- mp3 96 kBit/s
- average bitrate: ~ 588 kBit/s

1. open VD (1.4.10)... parsing interleaved MPEG File (mpeg nr.1) with no problem
2. Audio -.-> Full processing mode -.-> mp3 96 kBit/s - 48kHz
3. Video -.-> Filters -.-> add resize Filter: 352x192 - precise bicubic (A=-0.60)
4. Cropping Y1: 48 Y2: 48 (48x2=96/16=6)
5. Video -.-> Compression -.-> divx5: 2pass encoding (588kbps), use GMC, use bi-directional enc., psychovis. enhancements - NORMAL, MAXQ 8, MINQ 3
6. save as avi: firstpart_first.avi -.-> add operation to job list
7. save as avi: firstpart_second.avi -.-> add operation to job list
8. open VD (1.4.10)... parsing interleaved MPEG File (mpeg nr.2) with no problem
.
.
.
13. save as avi: secondpart_first.avi -.-> add operation to job list
14. save as avi: secondpart_second.avi -.-> add operation to job list
15. Job Control -.-> start: parsing interleaved MPEG File BUT then ERROR... the error occures after parsing the whole! mpeg-file

I dont know why this ERROR message(s) occure! First I thougt my cropping settings gone bad... I've changed them with no succes.

May someone have any suggestions?!!!

thanks and regards

Sill

Try using an MPEG VCD tool (MPEG Corrector or VCD Gear) to repair the MPG file. Or leave the audio out and try it seperately. For that simply save the wav file out of Vdub or use Graphedit. Then check noaudio in VDub.

Just some suggestions...

hi Beave,

I figured out that it wasn't any of my mpeg-streams causing the ERROR-messages.

Or leave the audio out and try it seperately. For that simply save the wav file out of Vdub or use Graphedit. Then check noaudio in VDub.

... that was the point!! I tried to convert audio and video in one step as it is mentioned in the guide by doom9.org (and I followed the guide step by step). But that didn't work for me.

thank you... good looking out

...glad to help

It doesn't work for me either, I always use Graphedit to get the MPEG Audio and then use BeSweet.
