Bug in Headac3he 0.23 downmixing?

When I use Headac3he 0.23 with the new Dolby Surround2 downmixing enabled it will always give me a delayed sound track if I use the WAV target at 44.1khz(for VCD encoding). It works fine when I use MP3 target at 48khz though. Any idea what may be causing this?

Does the delay also appear when using the normal "Surround" mode? I think there is indeed a bug with "Surround 2" and downsampling...

I have not yet tried with "Surround" mode in version 0.23 but everything is fine in 0.22b with "Surround". It seems that every time I downsample with 0.23 and use "Surround 2" I get delayed audio. For now I have resorted to using 0.22b for decoding for VCD and 0.23 for MP3@48khz.

Has anyone been able to verify this or pinpoint the issue? Seems to be a few people seeing the problem though. I have not seen this happen.

I know this error too... :-(

Any older SSRC dll's (48kHz to 44 kHz) tweaked from DarkAvenger are buggy (I reported this to Everwicked).

I still use original dll (no update) from second newest HeadAC3he (i have only MMX machine, not SSE MMX) and freq conversion is O.K.

Could you please post exact version of dll u are using? And could you test newest dlls, too?

It is the SSE/MMX version(from Everwicked's sit I believe). I will download the latest DLL from your site DarkAvenger.

Which CPU are you using? Any chance your running an SMP system?

That SSRC version you have is older than mine, I think mine is from DA's site.

Well, MaTTeR it appears to me that the bug is still not fixed in v0.23a (07-11-02 version). I got the latest DLLs from EW's site and still no help. My VCD's come out async every time but the 48kHz MP3s are fine. I will test it with 44.1kHz and DS1 and post the results here.

Edit: My SSRC is still the 1.00 (03-38-02) version. I will check DA's site for a newer version.

Well, somehow everwicked has um, inadvertently lost the new dlls and is still using the old ones. LOL. Everwicked is looking into how this horrible thing could have happened. LOL. Seems he was left out of the loop on the DLL update. His versions were indeed outdated.

If in doubt I suppose it's always a good idea to check DA's site for the latest and greatest version.
