How Can I leave Angles Intact?

I am trying to rip a movie which has a load of scenes with extra angles!

When I rip it using 'Smartripper', and play it back with PowerDVD, the angles are still there.

But don't want the menus.. Just the movie.. I use IFOEdit to create new 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' and 'VTS_01_0.IFO' and then I copy the original VOB files over to the new directory.

After this, there is only ONE angle..

The IFOEdit still shows all the angle points, but during playback there is still only one angle.

Is there any way to fix this?

I looked at the guide dealing with 'angles' but that cover 'removing angles' as opposed to keeping them in!

I don't actually understand why this doesnt' work.. The angles are there before I start with IFOEdit.. When I finish, the VOB files still contain the angles and the IFO files still show that the angles are there.. But during playback, there is only 1 angle.

I have tested with every angle related checked/unchecked and the problem is the same.. Has anyone ever been able to make a disk with the angles intact?

This depends on how you defined angle. Technically, there are two kinds of angles. One that shows multi-language text and the other one is having different view for a particular scene. For multi-language text, you can't really switch angles while playback because it defaults to what language the dvd player uses. Hence for this kind of angle, even if ifoedit reports its multiangle, you won't know it during playback. For a view angle, an icon will appear on you screen indicating that there's a different angle for that scene. You can press the angle button on your remote view that angle. Hope this didn't confuse you. :)

The type of angles I am referring to is the type that you get an icon and you can switch to another views.

On the original it works fine.. After using SmartRipper it still works.

But after I have used IFOEdit and created new 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' and 'VTS_01_0.IFO' files, it doesn't

When I open the new IFOs under IFOEdit, you can still see the angles, but when I play the disk, its like they are not there.

Even under PowerDVD.. When I select 'Angle', I get a list of 3 on the orignal and the SmartRipper version

But when I do this on the newly created IFO, I can only see 1

I must be doing something really silly.. Any ideas?

Is there no-one who knows the answer to this? Surely someone has had a film with mutiple angles and wanted to leave them in.

What is strange is that my ripped disk which has no angled under PowerDVD and my standalone DVD player, DOES on a Toshiba standalone DVD player! I don't understand that at all!

I still can't resolve this and don't know what else to try.

As soon as I do anything with IfoEdit to a DVD Filesystem, the angles are no longer available.

I can't believe that I am the only one seeing this and I am guessing that I am doing something really obvious.

Could someone please confirm if they have ever been able to leave angles working.
