Everytime I use internal ripping methods, thr rip finishes but the vob files are all weird sizes. When i go back and look at the files on the dvd they are all around 1 gig. The files that i get are all under a gig. whats up with that? also take a look at the ripping speed.

so what you are telling me is that the whole movie is there and i can proceed with encoding?

Hi moviemandvd,

exactly, to be on the safe side with this you can play the ripped VOBs with a software DVD Player or with DVD2AVI and have a look if the movie is ripped completely.

For example "Planet of the Apes" has a built n feature to see the director's comment and scome scenes from the "making of the movie" in a little window during the playback of the movie.

Usually one wants to convert the movie without this feature and chooses the apropriate track from the "Track lentgh" pulldown before. If you do so then all the ripped VOBs are about 700-850 MB and not 1 GB like the original ones in file size.

But the conversion will complete just fine with the whole movie encoded.

So there's no problem with that.

Greetings,
Gerti
