Guys,

I have managed to get the film to split to 2 dvd-rs and noticed 2 problems:-

1. Disk 2 menus are out, they dont allow navigation to the chapters on that disk(dont care about ones that arent on there, but are now on disk 1). The disk plays fine, just always starts from the beginning, regardless of what chapter you select.

2. Disk 2 loads up, and then goes to the menu and or mgm/trailer etc, it could do with skipping the menu and just carry on with the film.

Does anybody have any suggestions, as all guides i can find, explain disk 1, changing the number of chapters etc, fine, most say repeat the steps for disk 2, however there must be a difference?

Cheers,
satkid

Ok, open VIDEO_TS.IFO that is on side two. In the top tree view, double click on VMGM_MAT. This will open a subfolder "First Play PGC". In the bottom view, scroll down until you see "1. Pre Command" with a value to the right of it. Right click on that line and hit "change command". Change the command to "(Jump_TT) Jump to Title" and then where it says "Title Nr.", put the number of the title set that contains the second half of your movie. Tell it "ok" and then save it. Now when you put in side two, the second half of the movie should begin right away, without having to go through all the other BS :)

As as far as your first question is concerned, you have to correct the amount of chapters in VIDEO_TS to correct for the fact that half the movie is now on side one and the other half is on side two. Unfortunately, on a 30 chapter movie, the chapters on side two will now be numbered 1 to 15, instead of 16 to 30 (assuming you split it at chapter 15). I believe some people are working on a way to correct this, but I don't know how far they have gotten yet.

thanks for the reply m8. does that mean then on disk 2, you can select the chapters 1 - 15 (which are really chapters 16-30) and the player will jump to that chapter e.g. chapter 2 now is previously chap 16?
