View Full Version : Horizontal Jitter (several cm)

Hi,

I have got a strange problem since the last three releases of DVD2SVCD.

Converting DVD to SVCD works fine, but when I play the SVCD on my Scott-DVD-Standalone the picture jitters horizontal in slices of several centimeters.

The weird thing is: if I insert a DVD first, and play the SVCD this jitter is gone until I power off the player.

Has anyone experienced this and solved the problem?

Bert

Hello Herr Bert,

wait ... me sees some words appearing in my crystal ball ... "Anamorphic" ... wait ... there's some other ... "encoded as 16:9" ... hell .. what's that? - Just kidding. :D

Have a look in here:

I guess that's exactly your problem - since the last three versions of DVD2SVCD introduced the "Anamorphic (borders added, encoded as 16:9)" option. But it seems your DVD player does not support it or only by fooling the firmware. So you have to choose the "4:3 (no borders, encoded as 4:3)" if you want to creat anamorphic SVCDs for your 16:9 TV set.

Please read the Q&A as Nick already mentioned in the thread I gave you above and please do a little search next time. I know it's hard to find the right words if you are new to the whole thing and can't describe the problem properly - so no strike for you - this time! ;)

Greetings,
Gerti
