I am trying to generate the IFOs for a selection of VOB files which i streamed off the DVD using smartripper ( is ticked just one audio stream and the video itself). These files play fine in Power DVD.

However when i try to generate the IFOs in IFOedit the files are processed and then nothing is produced.

Any advice?

ps
This technique works perfectly when the VOBs are ripped normally. I tried cutting the audio and subtitle streams off with IFOedit but the file (4.39gb) still isn't as small as the streamed one (4.36gb). Any suggestions of other bits that i could snip off the VOBs as there must be some useless data for there to be this discrepancy in size.

I have the exact same problem several times. This is a VERY annoying feature of Ifoedit. Anybody know of a way to get new Ifo's?

i had the same experience..
i managed to get them, but only when i stream-stripped it with ifoedit itself..
When i do stream-stripping with smartripper, nothing is produced

Maybe i had luck, i dunno

How about :- Smartripper = 'Files' rip method. Do what files you want inc. ifo & Bup. Then strip audio & subpicture streams with IFOEDIT making sure the correct vob-unit navigation pointers & correct ifo tables with new vob information are checked.
Failing that use the above with create new VIDEO_TS.IFO & VTS_01_0.IFO checked for a completely new set of IFO files.
N.B. dont forget to make a new folder as the destination directory for the new files to be written into and select it in ifoedit FILES/DIRECTORY PATHS dialog box. If you are just creating new IFO files - it will write these in the specified destination directory and leave the VOBS in the VIDEO_TS directory. You will therefore have to copy these new files into the VIDEO_TS directory. Then Hey Presto you should have a new set of ifo & bup files with the Vobs which should play in IFOEDITS DVD Play.
Don't forget to close & reopen IFOEDIT and run the Get VTS sectors just before burning, to make it standalone compatible. I hope this helps, Happy Ripping;)
