You have to use the FourCC Changer (comes with Xvid, look in you start-menu), set the fourcc of the movie to DivX.

Why do you want to play your Xvid Movie with the divx decoder? have you tried FFDshow yet? Plays divX & Xvid.

Well, ffdshow is a Decoder for both systems, Xvid & Divx.

Since the movie is already burnt, it will be hard to change this!
Only way: If the movie is in an ogm, you can assign Xvid decoding to Divx-decoder in ogg-splitter, although I think Tobias added this feature for the other direction, he prefers Xvid.

use ffdshow. It has that film effect as well. Just set it to play xvid and voila.

If I use ffdshow do I need xvid codec or divx installed to play a movie encoded with those codecs?
