View Full Version : Right Bitrates for Philips Standalone with CCE 2.50

I am using DVD2SVCD 1.09 build 2 and a Philips DVD 612 with new firmware 4.15.
2 problems i can't solve:

1. every S-VCD i burn has some (about 2-10) studdering scenes, mostly near to the end of cd.
l already have lowered the bitrates to: max. 2450 and max avg. 2000. 44 khz audio converted. I also tried to fix the mux rate in bbmpeg to 6972.
I am using CCE 2.50 with Angels S-VCD matrix, Multipass VBR 3, burning with vcdxbuild. Quality is fine. But I can see with bitrate viewer that CCE does not keep its limit ranges. But how to solve this? I know the standalone has very strict requirements concerning the S-VCD specs (especially bitrates...) Problem does not exist with TMPG 2.53, but it needs twice the time for encoding.

2. And TMPG is also only working with CQ, if i use 2pass VBR it does not start to render frames, only with constant quality setting.

thx

Do a search please. Both issues have been discussed before.

The right parameters:

CCE: avbr/0/2400 avbr calculated with FitCD
mp2 audio: CBR 192/224 kbit/s

That works! But I encode manually (DVD2AVI, AVISynth, CCE, BeSweet, TSCV 0.84)

@bughandle All problems questions like that go in the basic section.
