I'm using WinDVD 4 Plus (multi channel supports) on Win98SE.
And I found these weird probs :
1. I can't change the speaker property to the 6 channels.
(all setting except 2 channels are greyed)
2. I can't choose the SPD/IF output the option are greyed.
But.... I can still hear the sound in surround.
----
so... are those a bugs or just my bugs... ;)

i installed WinDVD 4 Plus from intervideo.com
and there are no problems.
only the 6 min. sound thing is a little bit ...
but with the zoomplayer the intervideofilters are working perfect :)

I have the same problem, I cannot select more than 2 channels but what is really weird is that those options do work when you use the filter from another DS player. For example with Zoom Player I can play DVDs or AVIs+AC3 with 4.0 or 5.1 decoding.

The same happens to me. The new version still lacks some of the things PowerDVD 4 have. And I don't like the new GUI.:p Though, the previous WinDVD versions where always better than PowerDVD 3 IMHO.

@all,
thank God,
I finally found the tricks ;)
Just go to your Control Panel -> Multimedia
and change the speaker setting to Surround,
then you'll see the 6 channels ;)
I think WinDVD read the Windows speaker setting.
Goodluck.
