View Full Version : first BeSweet problem then bbmpeg problem WHY?

21st May 2002, 09:09
I've been ripping for almost a year, problem free until lately...I have:
1. windows xp
2. 640 mb rd ramm
3. pentium 4 2.00 ghz processor

I've converted around 30 movies in the past year with no problems...All of a sudden I can't explain why I'm running into problems...I start the rip process and everything is fine until an XP error message pops up saying that BeSweet has encountered a problem and had to be stopped...I can cancel out from this error and the conversion process will continue...It goes through cce section flawlessly evertime..until It gets to BBMpeg section...It locks up on 69% complete everytime...I've put my computer through the torture test everything appears to be fine...I ran it for around 5-6 hours...then I tried the memory test for around 5 hours...everything appears to be ok....I've tried installing previous versions of DVD2SVCD still the same problems, every time like clockwork...BBMpeg fails on multiplexing part...Why all of a sudden is converting such a problem for me...The audio encoding log is blank at this point...here is a log of the whole process up to the lock up in bbmpeg...Whats going on here...thanks for any help....

Hi pidkam,

does this happen also if you don't downsample to 44.1 kHz? If this happens not only with a single DVD then I personally don't think it's a BeSweet problem - but DSPguru can be more helpful on that (he usually needs the "Encoded_audio_1.log" for that).

What happens if you copy the BeSweet command line:

"C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\BeSweet\BeSweet.exe" -core( -input "C:\Program Files\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Extracted_audio_1.ac3" -output "C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Encoded_audio_1.mp2" -logfile "C:\PROGRA~1\DVD2SVCD\Movie\Encoded_audio_1.log" ) -azid( -L -3db -c normal -g max ) -ota( -d -84 ) -ssrc( --rate 44100 ) -2lame( -e -b 128 -m s )

and hit "Start/Run..." and paste it over there and hit ENTER? Does it crash also?

If there's a BeSweet error during the conversion and you continue ignoring the error it's just logical that bbMPEG will fail also due to a defective audio file - so don't worry about that it will be gone when your problems with BeSweet are gone.

Greetings,
Gerti

I tried using DVD2SVCD without downsampling the audio...Everything went fine all the way through...I will post my log for dvd2svcd and also the audio log....Still my question remains, why all of a sudden do I have to stop using the downsampling part of the program...It worked fine for almost a year...should I go ahead and and tri enabling it for my next rip and see where it goes...maybe it filtered out a glitch somewhere...I'm not sure thanks for everybodys help....PIDKAM

the logfile looks fine.
please attach the problematic logfile. (the one that included downsampling).

a tip : make sure you don't have other instances of ssrc.dll on your computer.

Yup, that or maybe you started fiddling with your hardware (like overclocking) or perhaps some memory that has gone bad. Try memtest 86 torture test.
