Why doesn't doom9 link FFMPEG???

I think it`s a nice encoder:

It is able to encode to:
AVI, MPEG audio, MPEG PS (muxed audio and video), ASF, Macromedia Flash, Real Audio and Video, Animated GIF, Raw AC3, Raw MPEG video...
(supports CODECS: DivX 3,4,5...)

(look at http://ffmpeg.sourceforge.net/#formats )

And it`s for Windows and Linux!

I think the answer given by Doom9 in one of the posts below, should be pretty self-explaining...
Here it is:
"I only upload tools I have thoroughly tested (or somebody I know did that for me)... to make the news it requires a little less... I don't want to become another divx-digest.. they post everything.. I post what I find is really useful for a large audience... but testing takes time..."

What do you do with that tool? I downloaded yesterday and played a bit with it. Mpeg2 input didn´t work for me and from the stuff I read (not much!) I can´t get if it´s able to do so or not. asf and rm transcoding is an interesting feature though I didn´t manage it to work (after 2 seconds the movie stops). mpeg1&mpg4 transcoding worked very fast and the results were pretty good (-sameq is nice!). Can you tell me how you work with it ... or is the topic of that thread of an ideological nature?
