I installed Divx 5.01 on my system very carefully by following the excellent instructions in this forum (sticky), so that I don't get the ads.

Now I want to upgrade to 5.02.

What is the easiest way to do it?

Can't I just overwrite some DLL files?

Or do I need to uninstall 5.01 and do the whole thing over again with 5.02?

Help!

Thanks!

I would go the long way, remove and reinstall.. that's how I upgraded (though I have the pro edition)

The easiest way might be to take a look around http://www.****.***/ - not always online, but when it is...:sly:

@paxos:

We do not tolerate linking to warez sites. And it's not even needed because there are legal ways around the adware in DivX5.

A strike for you for violating rule #6!

I do have the Pro version and I used the method as on this page. I want the Pro version. So please any easy way to upgrade from 5.01 to 5.02???

Yes I agree with the last post about Warez. It is cruel and evil. I hope all the Warez in this world dies! I don't understand why people like Warez! I mean come on software is so cheap! Take Scenariast for example, it's only $25,000 to buy! That's nothing! It's almost as cheap as a new Merc C-Class Coupe! Thrown in a few 3D packages and you get an nice software suite for UNDER a hundred grand! I empahsis under. Man, what a steal! That's even cheaper than an average family home! I wished them software people would put up them prices...they are SO poor anyways and they could do with some spare change...

Shame on all those Warez people...I hate them SO MUCH.

I actually did it the Doom9 did, uninstall and re-install. You could try overwriting just the divx.dll and divxdec.ax files, but you'd need the seperate files from someone who already installed it for that. And it might not even work if registry changes are also needed.

Who said anything about it being a warez site? It's a DVD related resource center. :devil:
