awful divx playback [Archive]

Help me im stupid

When I try to play divx (tried many players) i either get slow skippy playback, purple lines all over the place or no audio. I have a 250mhz cyrex. So does that mean im screwed?

Most likely, yes. I haven't really looked into divx since 3.x, but might be able to set your playback settings to minimum quality (video, sound) and get some degree of semi-fluent playback.

well I have the 5.01 or (.02 =/ ) codec.

When I still had a PII 400 I was at the limit with some divx 3.11 files, so I don't believe anything else than a new computer could help you...
