I have backed up about 20 dvds & found that the audio is out of sync by a second or so on most of the movies but only on the first disc ,the second disc is ok.
I suspect the problem lies with my pacific dvd player but I don’t under stand why only the first disc is out.I am using the latest version of dvd2svcd & TMPGEnc ver2.53.35.130. does anybody know how I can overcome this problem
Thanks to anyone that can help trev

On your next encode try these things 1 at a time. All have proven to fix sync issues with some players.

1. Don't use a tittle picture.
2. When you rip the DVD use internal routines and see if the first chapter has a length of 0. If it does deslect it and continue as normal.
3. Make sure the movie offset is at 2
4. If the Movie offset was at 2 try changing it to 0

Give these things a shot and see what happens.

If you still have all the files from the previous encode you could load the D2S file in recover and then uncheck the tittle picture. Be sure to do it in that order or the D2S file will put the tittle picture back in. Then you could continue from SVCD authoring if you had don't delete files checked or from muxing and cutting if you didn't.

With my last backup I tried to overlap the movie for 5 seconds.
For the first time I had an audio-sync problem.
I tried again with a 2 second overlap and the sync problem was gone.
Is there a way to overlap the movie 5 seconds but without the sync problem off course :)
