I'm trying to recode a MPEG into a DivX 1/3 the size, but it's got a corrupted index, meaning that neither XMpeg or V Dub will acess the whole file. However, when playing it in WMP, the entire file is visible....
Is there some way of using a frame server (which has to acess the whole file) to send the streams to V Dub for recoding? or some method of fixing the index, like DivFix does with AVI files.

Use the MPEG Tools of tmpgenc.

You can split (demux) the mpg with that and afterwoods handle video/sound separately. It should write a corrected index as well.
Or use vcdgear.

Use google to search for download locations if doom9 hasn't listed them in his archive.

unfortunatly, i've tried De-Muxing in both simple and normal methods and they dont export any of the video/audio past the error point.

Then use vcdgear to repair the mpeg - as i wrote in my first reply already.
