I need a player that won't freeze like my samsung M301 does, and I want to remain using Americal general media (cheaper, but decent, spindaled media). I also want component outs...

any suggestions?

basically, what players have no playback issue's?

I bought a new Sony DVP NS300/s and haven't had a single problem yet with DVD-R & DVD-RW.I don't know about cheap media because I always use branded (Pioneer). I am goint to try out the dvd-r's from cdrecordable.com & will tell you if I have any problems with cheap media. Hope this helps!:)

Of coarse the type of media you use will make a differance, but if its the player that plays just about any dvd r disk +r or -r,then you cannot beat a PIONEER player, from the cheapest player to the most costly they will except 99% of your dvdr`s.thats my experiance and im sure there are loads more to support what i have said....GOOD LUCK.;)

I have a Pioneer 3 disc C-302D (I think that's the model). They don't make it anymore, but it has component out, composite out, svideo out, digital optical, digital coaxial, and analog audio outputs. It has its own AC3/DTS decoder builtin (I pass digital streams to my reciever though), and it plays VCD/SVCD/DVD-R/DVD on any cdr/cdrw/dvdr with no problems what so ever. It even converts PAL to NTSC on the fly with no problems at all. (Unlike many Apex models, etc)

In short, I love it.

Yep that's right! Can't beat Pionner.
I'd suggest get a Pionner or a Sony.
