How to reassemble a DVD (Toystory 2)

Ok... Here's what I'm tryin to do. I'd like to make a backup of Toystory 2 by just ripping the 4:3 version and keeping the rest. It will fit on a disc just fine then.

All of the tutorials I have seen are expecting that the movie files are VTS_01_X.VOB. What if there are 10 VT Sets and you need to pull out one in the middle? I've pasted the breakdown of VTS and VOBIds below. I ended up just ripping the movie out, renaming it VTS_01_xxx etc, setting VTS and burning. Which works.. But I'd like to keep the rest... see below..

I dont really understand what you are trying to do except that you want to delete one version of the movie (16x9). What i did with this movie was just delete the VOBs of the version i didnt want to keep. When i do this i usually keep the .ifo and .bup of the vob set just in case it accesses it for redirection. Dont rename any VTS set to any other number. That doesnt help for any reason whatsoever. If you just delete the 16x9 vobs it will play fine in ifoedit and dvd player as long as you dont select that version of the movie. Hope i helped.

When you say"delete" do you mean throw it into the recycle bin or use delete playback in Ifoedit. Please elaborate.

I just tried the above method by SoujiroTheTenken for Toy Story 2, worked like a charm!

If anyone else tries this method on other dvds please post the movies and let us know if it works!

It will ALWAYS work if you do it this way when you have 2 aspect ratios on a DVD. It's no new discovery. It's been done before many times. Even by me. But, your aspect ratio selection menu still exists. Like SoujiroTheTenken mentioned, if you select the aspect ratio button of your deleted movie in your unbypassed aspect ratio selection menu, your DVD movie will error out or stop in playback on your standalone. By personal preference, I work on getting rid of that bothersome option menu or at least disable the unused aspect ratio button. But it's not an easy chore as every DVD is authored differently. That's why most of my cheat sheets are DVD that contained such menus. I just like the challenge sometimes.

BTW, the deleting vob method also works for split dvds as well! I just tested it on Shrek. I deleted the vobs off disc1, but disc 2 had enough room for it all (which is nice to keep the bonus material!) Awesome!

Question I have is with this method. Is anything done to the ifo files? Other than what was suggested by 2COOL to disable the one menu.

What is the prefered method to make the iso and burn?
