I decided to do my own longevity testing of a few popular brands of DVD-R. I plan subjecting the disks to various forms of abuse and then measuring the percentage of errors that have been induced.
I need to find an application that can give me a count of the number of errors (or percent of errors) in a DVD. I thought of using a SFV program, but this will only tell me if errors are present and not their relative proportions. Can anyone suggest a programs that fits the bill?
Also, the built in error correction in DVD is going to complicate things a bit. Anyone know of a way bypassing it so I can get a accurate count of the number of errors on a disk?
