Hi guys I have followed doom9s guide for CCE& IFOEdit...and now i am stuck ..when i press start in the layout editor I get the following error:
Info Creating DVD Files
Error Track(amelie-t) Sub-Picture stream 1 does't have Sub-Picture data.
Error Validate From DB failed
Error DVD files could not be created
I am new to scenarist so it could be that i have maybe accidentally skipped something:))) I must say that dooms guide is pretty difficult to follow:) hehehe..but hopefully i will get there in due time:)!!!
hi caprioles9000,
I believe you were using subpicture stream for subtitles. If that's true, you have had some sort of failure when importing them.
Pay more attention to informational window (View > information window).
To see what you have go to track editor and see your subpicture it must be empty. Normally, you should be able to see subtitle text in there.
About the guides...
Not very difficult for me. I admit sometimes they do not answer all questions. Do you think it is possible? Besides, ifo&cce thing is the most complicated issue I believe.
Thanks

so in the track editor i should see the text as well .,.yep i don't see ..after i get rid of the subpicture and add it again in the information window i got the following problem:
Info Creating DVD Files
Error Track(amelie-t) Sub-Picture stream 1 does't have Sub-Picture data.
Error Validate From DB failed
Error DVD files could not be created
Info Checking Subtitle File. Stream ID = 1, File = (G:\Amelie\Subs\s3sub.sst)
Error The display area does not match the pixel area.
Error The display area (Y2) should be smaller than 79.

Looks like the subfiles i created were wrong...one more question when you are changing the Color to (3 4 3 3) in the sst. file you just save as and thats it right AND THEN IMPORT IT INTO SCENARIST ..did i get that part right??? because if i did then this is what my new sst file looks like that i import to scenarist however i still see no text in the track editor

When ripping the subs with subrip set the size to 720x480. That should correct your error.
Did you read the guide?
Step 3: Subtitles
Use Subrip to get the subtitle from the main movie VOBs. Come back after performing step 1 of that guide and at the point where you get to the cropping options make sure you set the minimal output resolution to the respective DVD resolution (720x480 for NTSC DVDs, 720x576 for PAL DVDs).

ok...when i want to use subconverter...i cannot seem to set the resolution..it doesnt give me the chance??>...i can only set the output type to original and thats it..is there a way to manually change ...via notepad or something ???
(ps; gump_boy....my dvd is pal ..so it has to be 720x576)...
If you not found discovery yet...
if you press on "Subrip" http link, you will be taken to subrip guide.
On the page look for the following:
In case you're creating DVD subtitles (the CCE guide links to this guide as well;) set the minimum picture width and height to correspond to the dimension of your DVD, that is 720x480 for NTSC DVDs and 720x576 for PAL DVDs.
