How do I extract them? Do I have to do a screen grab? I tried Ifoedit but it didn't work for me. Can you extract them from the VOBs somehow? Sorry if this is a basic question!

Hi,

get VobRator, open Menu VOB (the VTS_xx_0.VOB of a title) demux, ready.

Alternatively, you can use VStrip together with it's GUI. It's more powerful and stable but less handy since you have to set a few more switches the right way.

For the button overlays, SubRip is the right choice.

That's it.

When Vobrator exports RAW PCM Audio streams (most often it will export AC3 though), remember, they don't contain a header (VStrip can add a PCM header). You need to import these raw audio files into a soundeditor (I use e.g. SoundForge) and let the program add a WAV header. Therefore you need to tell the program the right setting, which is (most likely) 48kHz, 16bit, stereo.

They extracted files can be imported to an authoring program as they are.
