subtitles with ZoomPlayer

Is there any way of using subtitles with Zoomplayer in the same way as with microdvd for ex. or does it need Directvobshow to do it?
If this is not possible wouldn't this be a good feature to add?

I don't think so, Vobsub is wonderful, it's perfectly integrated with Zoom Player (and any other DS player) and it has its own remote control support. Are you having any problem with Vobsub?

well... actually yes ;)
To play a file using Direct VobShow I need to:
1-Name the sub the same name has the avi
2-Have them both in the same dir

The 1st one shouldn't be a problem, but the 2nd one is really bad. I don't want to copy the movies to my hdd when watching them. I've read on the dvobsub documentation that I can edit the registry in order to use other directories to read the subs from, but the thing is does it actually works? Whenever I do it those registry keys keep resting and I can only use the subs that are on the same directory of the movie! Is there any way to make this work?

And also can I position the subs on the screen with dvobsub?

If I could do this things, yes there would be no doubt that loading txt sub files would be unnecessary... well maybe it's me that is just a dumb guy :D

Do this: enter dvobsub properties and choose "always auto-load". Then press Save and OK. Later, dvobsub will always load even if there's no automatically detected subtitle files. Load a new movie and go to the properties again. Click on Open and you can choose any subtitle file from any directory.

Certainly! You can do lots of nice things with dvobsub!

Pardon me my ignorance, but how can I access dvobsub properties??
I can only access dvobsub when it's running on the systray right? and when I right click it I only see options to hide subs and to flip the picture!

Can u help me out plz... where do I access those properties?

Set the manual filter mode to SVCD profile (regardless if you're playing SVCDs or not).

Alt+S works, the problem is when I use the open button to browse for subtitles, then they won't load during video playback... The open file menu pops up, I choose the subtitle file I want to use, then press Apply/OK and when I start playing the movie, dvobsub is active, but the subs won't load.
It only works with subs that are on the same dir and with the same name of the avi :confused:

Am I missing anything else?

That's actually a question for the author fo dvobsub...
