hi,

usually I aim for 700MB DVD-Backups but for the first time I made a 208min backup of a DVD (Das Boot). For that reason my target filesize was 1400MB. Because of the good compressability I got an undersized file of 1240MB, but that's not worth any annoyance. Now I want to split the file into 2 parts (700MB and 540MB)... it shouldn't be very difficult because VirtualDub is a great Editor.
What I'd like to do, is to put a little "tool" at the end of the first part of the movie that automatically starts the second part of the movie. My idea was putting "CD1" into DVD-ROM and "CD2" into my CD-ROM... therefore I´m looking for a little "tool" that can do what I want ;) . Does anyone know about something like that. The fileformat is *.avi

It would be very nice, because I'm a lazy individual.

Thanks at all

regards Sill

How about using a player which supports playlists like bsplayer.

thx for your fast answer,

I´ve never used the bsplayer, because the msplayer does a good job for me. How can I draw up a playlist with the bsplayer? Once I saw cd-changing tool, but only for (S)VCDs. Aren't there any other opportunities? A friend of mine is using the MicroDVD-player to have an autostart. Does this player support playlists?

with alt+e the playlist will show up. but i don't know that much about other players, because i only use bsplayer, but i think microdvd and also zoomplayer have this feature.

What I found out recently is that Windows Media Player supports playlists, and they are really easy to make:

make a text file, write the names of the files in it, each in a new line:

movie[01].avi
movie[02].avi

(without paths if the files are in the same dir)

save it with .m3u extension (like the winamp playlists) and drag and drop it onto media player.
