Problems with dvd2avi

Hi guys i have a little problem.....the problem is that i am using dvd2avi (one from dooms site version 1.76) on the matrix (region 2),....and after i get the ac3 file and the d2v file ..i use VFAPI converter to convert it to avi.....and each time i do this at the part where morpheus fights with neo for the first time (that karate scene) i get glitches and the frames jump back and forth...now i thought maybe the original vob files were corrupted so i re-ripped it again ..but the same thing happens.....so i thought maybe its VFAPI converter that might cause the problem ..so i tried another way which is the avisynth script (installed gordian knot package fully) and insterting the avs. file directly into cce and coding it ..however again ..the same thing happens on the same spot of the film????....so i am sure that its not VFAPI converter that causes the problem.....or avisynth....but i have a feeling that its DVD2AVI thats causing the problem:(.......now the matrix says its interlaced when you load it for the first time.....however i do not see any black horizontal lines when i watch it.........so i did not change the Field Operation to Swap Field Order.....i left the rest of the settings just like its written on dooms site....so i am clueless...whats strange is that it keeps on doing at the same spot.....the fight scene....and again towards the end ..again a fight scene where neo goes into the federal building......right there the frames skip back and forth again.....does anyone have any idea?????

ohh yeah ,....whats the difference between the dvd2avi program on dooms site and the others that people have been talking about on this forum......are the other ones better???? Maybe i should try another dvd2avi or something....????

Ahh, the so much beloved Matrix hits again. The reason for this "jumping" as you call it is the so called "Follow the white rabbit" scenes. I.e. there are multiangle parts in the movie, which could be enabled in the DVD player. Now when you just rip the whole movie, i quess you rip all the vobs and not the movie stream alone, you get all these mixed up. I quess there is two options. You rip the movie with a ripper that supports angle selection. Or, you rip all the vobs and separate the smaller vobs inside the 1G vobs and check which are duplicated and remove the duplicates. If I remember correctly you have to remove the second one of the duplicates not the first one. I have no idea how this affects subtitles or anything else, because my version was R1 and I did not put any subtitles on the rip??? Maby there is even easier way to remove the unecessary parts, I do not know, but this is how I made my Matrix RIP, hmmm... 3 years ago??? And I did it again last year but this time I made a mini-DVD instead of VCD. And I used the same method... No subtitles though... But atleast for some movies which have multiangle-feature used as for different language credits or something, Disney movies, the subtitles has been OK...

Ok ...Heres the way:

1) Rip the whole movie with the BACKUP option in Smartripper

2) Use ifoedit and remove all angles leaving angle 1 and leave 1 audio stream & a subtitle.

3) Now u have new VOBS & ifo's

4) VOBSPLIT the credits off the last VOB ...abt 300MB worth.

5) Move VOB #1 and the ifo for it to a new dir ...run rempeg on it for a 60% smaller file and then remux the smaller m2v using ifoedit ....since its only 1 VOB in the dir...IFO remuxs correctly.

6) Now u have A smaller encoded VOB1 and a truncated last VOB ...which will allowu to fit all of the movie ont the 4.35G limit.

7) move back VOB #1 into the dir with the other VOBs, move back the ifo file too.

8)OK now do a strip again ...NO REMUX...remove the subtitle stream U did NOT remove

9) Let ifoedit rebuild VOBU /ifos and other pters etc into a New folder.

10) GET VTS and BURN.....Turnaround time = 2.5hrs.

Even easier (though I did this with R1 disc):

Use SmartRipper in Movie mode. You'll automatically get Angle 1 of the longest program chain.

Sorry , I not clear say the all story.
I done and succeed before about the "Matrix". But not using the Nundub this program. Now I just see the info of post, I know the where is the problem.
I Just has question about ripping this process must be using the SmartRipper or anyone can be.If must be using SmartRipper can tell me why?thx.

You can use DVDDecrypter. Just make sure you have the latest version as only recently has it become able to handle multi-angle movies
